Adding a device
To see your new HTG or HFT device through the Online Control Panel first you must 'Claim' it.
Connecting can be a two-person job
If you are using the Online Control Panel away from the site (e.g. from an office) we recommend you check that it is picking up readings from the HyDip device while the installer is on-site.
Claiming a device
- Log into your HyDip account at www.hydip.com (opens in new window).
- Hover over Devices to get a drop down menu; click on Claim a Device.
- Here you should be asked for the serial number and hand-off code. These are provided when you buy the device. Type them in and click Add Device.
Assuming the device has been installed on the tank and has a working 3G or Ethernet connection it will connect automatically to your Online Control Panel.
When the device connects:
- a pin should appear on the map if you are in the Dashboard view
- an icon should appear in the device tree in the left hand panel if you are in the Devices view.
When your new device appears, click on it to reveal the full suite of measurement and diagnostic information in the Device view; from the map view you can click on the summary pop-up to get though to this.
To make the HyDip device send a signal
If the pin or icon for your new device doesn't appear on the panel, Sync the HyDip to make it send a signal to the server (this requires you or an engineer to be with the device).
Checking you have full functionality
While the engineer is still on site, check that you are picking up all of the signals you will need. For example, can you see:
- the liquid level in the tank? Make sure you're in the Devices view, and in the Status > Current dips tab. Note: the reading in litres will not be accurate until you have added a strapping table
- the location in the Status > Location tab?
- the equipment diagnostics e.g. battery level and device temperature in the Status > Equipment tab?
- how many times the device has synced in the Diagnostics > Connection history tab?
If the signal is not correct you can ask your installer to check the GPS aerial, internet signal, battery connections etc until you are satisfied that you have a full working view of your tank.
