Setting up dispensers
The HyDip Tank Gauging device (HTG) monitors levels in fuel tanks.
The HyDip Fuel Tracking device (HFT) is also able to manage fuel dispensers. After you have physically connected the HFT device to a fuel dispenser, you can administer it from the Online Control Panel.
Setting up the Online Control Panel to manage dispensers
Make sure you're in the Devices view - the Devices icon is highlighted in the menu bar. Click on the device in the left column, then the Site setup tab and then on the Dispensers tab.
In the All tab first select the brand of dispenser. You can now select some options:
Feature | Description |
---|---|
Authorisation timeout | After their ID tag has been recognised, how long should the user have to make the authorisation with their PIN? Taking too long requires the user to start again. |
Walk timeout | After the delivery has been authorised by the ID tag and PIN, how long should the user have to pick up the hose and start dispensing fuel? Setting a limit here prevents users leaving an authorised dispenser unattended. Taking too long requires the user to start again. |
Minimum credit | If the user has credit in their account below the level you set they won't be able to dispense fuel. |
Control | We suggest you leave EXT +12V disabled/sync aft. This will cause the device to sync after each transaction. This may be impractical if you have a busy site with several pumps running at the same time. Enable HFT 12V output. |
Enabling hoses
You can now click the Hoses tab.
Compac pump numbering is out of step with HyDip hose numbering
Note that Compac numbers are 1-16, while Hydip follows common convention of numbering 0-15. You should enable Hose 0 for Compac Pn1, Hose 1 for Compac Pn2 etc. up to Hose 15 for Compac Pn16.
For each hose that is connected to the HyDip device, enable it and identify what it is dispensing (e.g. diesel). This measure ensures that the user canβt dispense a more expensive product than you were planning for, and also reduces the risk of putting the wrong product in a vehicle.
You are now ready to manage tanks and dispensers.
Setting product prices
To set the product prices on a particular HyDip device, first choose it from the device tree in the left hand column. Then go to the Site set up tab, the Dispensers tab, and the Prices tab.
Here you can set the price for each given product. Any hose will be set up to dispense one particular liquid, and so will be set the right price automatically.
The device updates the price you set every time it connects to the HyDip cloud. Until this point it dispenses at the old price. The unit price recorded for a given transaction is fixed to the price shown on the pump display as the nozzle is removed. It is independent of any changes made during the transaction.
