LCD tank level display unit

The HyDip LCD is a simple weatherproof display unit for use with large tanks containing liquid.

It has a display screen showing volume of liquid (litres), a button to wake it up, and a built in overfill buzzer visible on one end plate.

The LCD should be fixed somewhere convenient on the tank, and connected to the HTG or HFT device which will measure the liquid level.

Using the LCD with supported HyDip devices

Although HyDip HTGv1 and HFTv1 devices have their own display, so that readings can be taken at the site of the tank, they need to be housed in a weatherproof (e.g. IP65 rated) enclosure.

For convenience, a HyDip LCD level display unit can be connected to your HyDip device and attached outside the enclosure to give you easier visibility of tank levels.

Siting the LCD

The HyDip LCD is weatherproof and can be sited outside.

It should be located somewhere convenient to find and easy to see. It needs to be close enough to the weatherproof cabinet with the HyDip device to run a cable to it.

Enabling HyNet on the web

You'll need to turn on HyNet in the online control panel to enable communications between the HyDip device and the LCD unit:

  • Log into your HyDip online control panel
  • In the folder tree on the left (or via the map dashboard) select the device
  • Select the Devices view, then the System tab, and make sure you're in the Configuration tab
  • Among the options you will see 'Enable HyNet'. Using the drop-down, switch this to Enabled and click Save.

Operating the HyDip LCD

To see the number of litres inside the tank, simply press the button on the display. After 20 seconds it will turn itself off to conserve energy.

If the overfill alarm is triggered, the buzzer sounds and the display flashes a warning message.
